My morning yesterday was definitely something to talk about...sorry it took me 'till today to post this....I've been busy....well not really, just lazy!
Back to yesterday morning....my alarm goes off at 6:40am...why the strange time? See, I have figured out just how long our mornings take to get out of the house...so I know that at 6:40 I can hit the snooze button once and still have plenty of time...I love my sleep. Anyways, as I roll to hit the snooze I see J Girl leap out of my bed like her pants were on fire. This kinda struck me as odd, but I was sleepy and at these moments I am too lazy to investigate anything. My alarm goes off the second time, and now begrudgingly get up. As I walk into the bathroom, I notice J Girl under her covers in HER bed. This also struck me as odd, but I am catching on pretty quickly to whats going on around these parts. The bathroom door opens, and in steps J Girl as she stretches and says. "Good Morning!". NOW I get it...she "thinks" I did not notice that she was in my bed! I left it go at that, for now, since our "talk" will just eat up precious minutes of our time, and as you already know, our mornings need to run like a fine oiled machine or else we will be late, which makes me VERY cranky for the rest of the day.
We pile into the car, and off we go...on time. At some point, I hear J Girl in the back telling me, "We need gas Mommy." I look down, because sometimes the kid is just good like that, but not today...."We don't need gas." and I drive along. Not long after, J Girl yells from the back, "Yah! We are going to Gigi's!". Now I think she has lost her mind...."No we're not, I have to go to work today." Just then, I notice, I have been driving the wrong way for a while, and sure enough, we are headed to Gigi's. If you know anything about my kids, you will understand how this can freak them out. They HATE change, and now I have to take a different route to the sitters. At this point, I turn the radio up to drown out the screams....J Girl yelling, "WE ARE LOST, WHERE ARE WE, HOW ARE WE GOING TO FIND OUR WAY NOW, MOOOOMMMMMYYYYYY!" and J Boy now screaming, "MOOOOMMMMMMYYYYY HHHHHOOOOOMMMMEEEE!".
I know, they are slightly neurotic. Anyway, I slow down in front of the sitters and open the van doors at the same time as I am unbuckling them and throwing them out. No, not really, just wanted to see if I still have your attention, since even I can see that this post is REALLY boring!
Get to the good stuff you say....last night after dinner, I finally ask J Girl why she jumped out of my bed when the alarm went off? Her reply, and this is good..."Because I want to ride real horses."
You see, there is a rule in our house, or actually a bribe....you must sleep in your bed every night AND THEN you will get to ride real horses.
That little bugger is too smart....she is trying to trick me....but I CAN NOT BE TRICKED! As I laugh with my best Dr. Evil laugh...hahahahahahah.

Oh, the girl will trick you! Ha ha ha ha! You just wait and see. Her methods will become better and smoother. You won't even know you've been tricked. Until you recongnize the signs. When it is way too late. I know. I've been tricked a hundred times. She's so good at it - my teenage daughter. =) But don't be sad. It's the way it's supposed to be! ;-) I guess.

Boring? Nooo, that's FUNNY. Don't you just love kids that know more than us? It reminds me of the many times in my classroom when my students caught me in some kind of mistake. I'm sure Lily will be correcting me soon enough. And the riding real horses part? My goodness, she's a sneaky one already. Good luck dealing with that! Thanks for the laugh.
