First I would like to apologize...I haven't been elaborating on my 100 Things About Me too often. So tonight I will pay tribute to #90 which states, I like to sit in my Dad's shop and watch him woodwork.
I thought this was fitting since over the weekend he finished a beautiful Mission Style Desk for my Mom's new Mac. We happened to be over visiting and I took a few shots of him at work.
I definitely admire his talent, and he often hopes that at least one of his grandkids will be interested in woodworking....and I do too....it has become a lost art in this disposable world.
Here is just a sampling of projects he has done for the kids, all signed and dated with his "logo" so that one day the Antique Roadshow will be able to identify his work. (This has come directly from his mouth a number of times)
One of my Dad's favorite statements to make when he enters my home is, "You know, you would have nothing in here in the way of furniture if I didn't build it for you." Your right Dad, and I guess I don't often mention how much I appreciate your talent.....here's to you, kid!

Dang that mission style desk is IDENTICAL to one I have that cost a LOT!!! He's very talented.

My father was a wood worker too. He went into his shop (the garage) every day after work until supper. Thanks for leaving a comment on my site. I really like your idea of elaborating on 100 things about yourself. I also like that Amber Alert widget.

Very impressive. I've always envied those who can create like that. We have some woodwork that my father-in-law made around our house. He was quite the wood worker himself. Your dad does nice work and I think it's great you let him know how much you appreciate his work. Is he accepting any orders?
