That little germ invaded our house again.
You know those little ant traps...the ones that look like a little house....you know, the ones that they unsuspectingly crawl into and die? Well, I wish they made them for germs....cause we just can't catch a break.
So the kids started out late last week....runny noses, small cough. On Thursday, I woke with a slightly sore throat. Friday, add a sniffle. By Saturday, full blown colds for all of us. Noses packed, throats sore, coughing, sneezing, watery eyes....God, that sounds like a bad commercial for NyQuil.
And last night, I think, was the worst of the worst. We only have one working humidifier so I grabbed it while screaming SUCKERS as I ran into my bedroom and slammed the door shut we all ended up sleeping in one bed last night. Two adults, two kids and a dog, in one bed, definitely does not make for comfy sleeping arrangements on a normal night. But add three of the five are sick and it's a nightmare. The humidifier was pumping, noses were blowing, kids were whining, tissues flying, someone coughing, another sneezing, a thump as someone was pushed out of the bed and all this in a 12 x 12 room. Oh the joys.
As dawn neared I heard a deep cough....so DEEP in fact that I was afraid to open my eyes. But....I didn't need to....I FELT it....the slimy decent of a snot-vomit as it slid down my back. I jumped up, turned around and looked at the boy as he slept peacefully with a booger covered binky hanging halfway out of his mouth. EWWWWW.....as I silently screamed while grabbing for anything within reach to wipe away this awful goo from my body. I reached the hallway closet and grabbed a few towels. Making my way back to the bedroom, I was thinking about how to possibly strip the bed. After a few seconds of contemplation, I decided against it. Instead, I took the towels, carefully laid them upon the snot-vomit, and laid back down to sleep. That's right....I did that. Uh-huh. I slept in snot-vomit. And you know what? I don't care. That extra hour was glorious. One side of my nose was finally clear so, even for just one hour, I was able to sleep/breathe with my mouth SHUT...and I was not wasting that.
Now excuse me while I go bathe
in this...............

Oh you poor thing. Sleeping in snot and enjoying it? I hope when you're feeling better you don't regret writing about it. It's funny stuff for those of us that did not sleep with goo on our backs.
