That's code for, well, you know. The Easter guy.
Anyway, this is the first year my kids really understand who HE/SHE is.
However, they were under the impression that he brings lots of toys.
Kinda like that big jolly fella in red.
Needless to say, they were slightly disappointed to find out the truth on that matter. Although once the word 'candy' was thrown in, they cheered right up. *how unexpected, right?*
In the past, candy was not an issue. They didn't understand, nor miss, the fact that it was not there.
We usually gave a small toy and a stuffed animal.
And this year, my idea is about the same. With maybe a chocolate bunny and some jelly beans thrown in for good measure. But, basically, I am thinking a new movie, book, small toy and other tiny trinkets.
So, my questions to you is.....
What does the "Big Guy" bring to your house?
And does he hide eggs?
I am anxious to see what your responses are since my bunny is slightly unprepared ;)

Since this will be the first that has any possibility of being remembered, we're starting small. We (I) sort of made up our own Bunny story -- s/he comes to help us welcome spring, we color the eggs and leave them (along with a treat of celery, carrots, and a radish) in a basket for him/her to hide during the night (but s/he is very, very shy, so it is important that we go RIGHT TO SLEEP or we might scare him/her away), and if we are especially helpful, s/he might even hid a special egg for us to find. In reality, we've got half a dozen or so plastic eggs with one or two pieces of candy or a little toy prizes inside for him to find in addition to the dyed eggs. We'll see how it goes and tweak it as needed... Happy Easter!

I am SO under prepared this year that it's not even funny. Next year, my kids will want to skip Easter cuz it sucked so bad THIS year. (my evil plan is working wonderfully lol)

I want to steal Rachel's idea for a photo hunt--that sounds fun!
I just did a larger hollow choco bunny, playdoh tools for each girl, stuffed bunny and peeps. We hide the eggs and those have the jelly beans. Since the boy doesn't eat candy yet, I just put candy in his that DH and I like and some toy trucks. ;-) I was late getting stuff together or we had been doing an Easter or bunny themed book for each kid.

I also try to limit the candy. Honestly I don't really even tell Caleb (yet) that an Easter Bunny or other Santa-like figure brings them.
We're going to a parks and rec egg hunt in just a little bit. Tomorrow, I'm doing a egg photo scavenger hunt. I went around the house and outside and took pictures of hiding places (the silverware drawer, dishwasher, toybox, closet, etc). I'm printing them out as a contact sheet (I think that fits 35 photos??) I'll put a picture in each egg showing where to look next. A few eggs will have candy. The hunt will end with a movie, two books and a few toy cars.
